School Council
About
Community participation in the education of children has long been a major factor in improving education at all levels of the public system. Belrose Public School's School Council provides a focus for this participation. Through our School Council, the efforts of parents, staff and the community are combined in a genuine partnership in support of school decision making.
The Principal is accountable for leading and managing the school within the framework of state policies, system priorities, mandatory state-wide curriculum set by the NSW Government and available resources.
The Belrose School Council assists the Principal in:
- identifying the needs and priorities of the community
- setting aims and directions for the school
- working out the school's resource needs
- developing the school plan and budget
- working with other school and community groups in support of the school
- developing and endorsing student welfare and discipline policies
- advising on the community use of school facilities
- assisting in the selection of staff where appropriate
- promoting a positive image of the school in the community
- strengthening the role of the school within the community.
The School Council meets every fourth Monday of the month at 5.00pm.
